Safety testing verifies that electrical and electronic products protect users against electrical, mechanical, thermal and related hazards in both normal operation and foreseeable fault conditions.

Successful testing supports CE marking and wider market approval, and can feed into international certification routes such as the IECEE CB Scheme and the MET (NRTL) mark for North America.

A product's reliability depends not only on its design but on the components, materials and manufacturing processes behind it, and on the stresses it meets through storage, transport, installation, operation and maintenance.

Our reliability tests simulate these real-world conditions - temperature and temperature cycling, humidity and condensation, vibration and shock, and electrical stresses such as electrical overstress (EOS) and electrostatic discharge (ESD).

Life tests and acceleration models then estimate failure mechanisms, failure rates and expected service life.

Environmental testing evaluates how real-world conditions affect both a product and its packaging across the whole lifecycle, from storage and transport through to installation and use.

Using thermal, humidity and corrosion tests alongside vibration and shock, we reproduce the climatic and mechanical stresses a product will encounter in service - helping to expose weaknesses early and confirm that a design performs reliably in its intended operating environment.

Vibration, shock and drop testing assesses the durability and mechanical performance of a product's structure. Carried out early in the design stage, it reveals structural weaknesses, fatigue and loosening before a product reaches production, reducing the risk and cost of late redesign.

Test profiles can be tailored to transport, handling and in-service conditions, including recognised standards such as MIL-STD-810.

Ingress protection (IP) testing determines how effectively an enclosure keeps out dust, solid foreign objects and water, producing the IP rating that classifies electronics for demanding or outdoor environments.

Our testing covers dust ingress, protection against solid foreign objects, and water resistance - helping manufacturers verify and confidently declare the IP classification their products need for their intended conditions of use.

Eurofins Electric & Electronics Finland Oy is a designated Notified Body (NB 0537) and has served as a Finnish Notified Body for both medical devices and IVD medical devices since 1995.

We carry out conformity assessment for CE marking under Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR) and Regulation (EU) 2017/746 (IVDR), as well as the legacy Medical Devices Directive (93/42/EEC) and IVD Directive (98/79/EC).

Alongside this, we certify quality management systems to ISO 13485 on a voluntary basis and perform QMS audits under MDSAP (the Medical Device Single Audit Program). Conformity assessment and management system audits (ISO 13485 and ISO 9001) can be combined to streamline a product's route to market.
